From the Grevenbroich based company Ingenieurgesellschaft Eduard Hahn, formed in the early 1950s, the company evolved into GSB - Gesellschaft für Stromverteilerbau in 1980.
In the 80s, GSB shifted its focus from being mainly a trade and manufacturing company for electric components, to an established installation firm focusing on electrical craftmanship.
Following the development to a full service provider for entire solutions, in 1986 the company changed its name to GSB - Gesellschaft für elektrische Ausrüstungen. Since then GSB profiles itself as a manufacturing engineering company.
After the German Reunification the business activities were expanded and in 1991 a subsidiary (GEA) was established in Bernburg / Saale (former East Germany). In 1995 another subsidiary was launched. The GAA, headquartered in Cologne had their focus in the field of automation.
By expanding the company the operational space in Grevenbroich and Cologne was no longer sufficient and in July 2003, the operational base was moved to the present headquarter in Rommerskirchen (Rheinland).
That same year, ABB Switzerland AG and GSB established the joint-venture Service and Sales Center for high power rectifier systems. This cooperation has opened the possibility for GSB to develop from a regionally orientated company toward an international player.
The years 2004 and 2005 were marked by a consolidation course, focusing on the strengths of the company. At the end of the consolidation the subsidiaries were fully integrated in the parent company GSB.
In subsequent years, the customer base was expanded and the geographic expansion was forwarded, without neglecting the regional roots.
As a family-owned business GSB at present employs approx. 70 employees, who are active both at the corporate location Rommerskirchen, as well as by our regional, national and international clients on site.
